I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Sexual Offences, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. As your local Neighbourhood Policing Inspector, I want to provide reassurance about our ongoing work to ensure Whisby Nature Park is a welcoming and well used space for everyone. Over the past two years, we have received five reports of a man exposing himself and masturbating in public on one of the reserves pathways near to a sandy area at the edge of Thorpe Lake. (circled on the map). While there has been no indication of escalation, this is something we take very seriously, and each report has been carefully reviewed and continues to inform our work in the area. Whisby Nature Park continues to be enjoyed safely by thousands of visitors every month and remains a valued community asset. We are asking the community to remain aware. You can help by reporting anything that causes concern. Even small pieces of information can be helpful when taken together and allow us to build a clearer picture over time. If it is safe to do so, noting details such as clothing, approximate age, height, location and time can assist our enquiries. If you have information or witness anything that concerns you: • For non emergencies, report online or call 101 • If something is happening at the time, call 999 • Information can also be given anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 Neighbourhood officers will continue working closely with Whisby Nature Park staff, and patrols will be increased, particularly during busier periods over the warmer months. We will remain responsive to any reports and visible in the area to provide reassurance. By looking out for one another and reporting concerns when necessary, we can help ensure Whisby Nature Park continues to be a positive and welcoming place for local residents, families and visitors. Thank you, Inspector Rachel Blackwell
